Dear Friends at St. Margaret's, First of all I wish to thank those who attended the special Advisory Board meeting on Thursday May 13th to help formulate a sense of who we are here at St. Margaret's and where we hope to go in the months and years ahead. This proved to be an invaluable resource as the Wardens and I met with Bishop Elliott Wednesday May 26th here at St. Margaret's. In that meeting we were able to provide the Bishop a detailed picture of our Parish life while at the same time giving him a sense of our passionate desire to grow God's Kingdom in our church and community. We were delighted to hear Bishop Elliott share his sentiments about how he feels St. Margaret's to be a "strategic" parish in the Diocese. The Bishop also shared his vision for a partnership between St. Margaret's and the Diocese in which some "benchmarks" would be established for us to work toward, while at the same time exploring the possibility of easing our financial burden via some kind of debt reduction program at the Diocesan level. He also suggested we re-engage the Natural Church Development process so that we will continue to realize our potential all areas of church life. This indeed resonated with us and I am sure will be a profound benefit to us all. In short, the meeting held a very positive tone which I hope you sense in this article. We definitely left the meeting with a keen sense of support from the Bishop and what we believe will be an ongoing journey together with the Diocese. Thanks again for your continued prayerful support in all this.
Sincerely in Christ
