Pass the Word

Dear friends,

Come and journey with a Saviour who has called us from our birth!

Palm Sunday brings us to the beginning of Holy Week - a time when all Christians are encouraged to journey together with Jesus through the final events of his life, through the agonies of his death and into the new life of his resurrection. This is a difficult and painful journey, - but it is a necessary journey — for anyone who hopes to experience the true joy of Easter and the new life that Jesus has made possible for all who believe! We need to see Jesus serving his disciples as we are to serve one another! We need to stand with the chief priests and people and shout out 'Crucify him' to acknowledge how we continue to crucify him through our sinfulness and the pain we inflict on others. We need to stand at the foot of the cross and lay our sins at his feet in order to hear Jesus say 'Father, forgive them,' for then — and only then - will we be able to rise with him on Easter morning and share with him once again the abundant joy of his resurrection! Therefore, I encourage all of you to attend the Holy Week services being offered at St. Margaret's this week, for you cannot experience the exhilarating joy of Easter or the New Life it initiates in any other way!

May God bless you on your journey!
Rev. Janet Mitchell
